I got this for my 5 yr old grand daughter’s birthday. I read the reviews AFTER I got the product and was worried because some said it didn’t light up!? BUT it DOES after the brush is held over or dipped into the paint that comes with it. It took about 10 seconds for it to ‘recognize’ the paint color at first then she was off to the races. The only draw back is there isn’t alot of the paint and it’s a clear gel, but you can buy more of it and different colors than the primary ones it comes with. The brush is ‘chunky’ so it’s perfect for little hands. Says it won’t work on any other surface like other paper other than what comes with it and that remains true. So there is NO mess or accidents of carpets, tables, bare floors, etc. I’d highly reccomend this product to anyone IF you can find it. That was one very difficult thing we ran into. Found it at Johnny’s toys store in Covington Ky and it was the LAST ONE but they held it for me.

Amazingly useful!
I came across this travel tote while shopping with my wife. I noticed the precious little girl on the package and how she looked like she was having so much fun. We thought if a girl as cute as that could be entertained by this product, we would have a blast with it. And boy were we right! This is easily the best, most durable, and coolest crayola tote we have ever owned. If you are a cute little girl, or know one — you MUST get this product.

Great for creative children, but poor quality
My kids have had this toy for three days now, and they’re still in love with it. However, there are some issues with the two plastic drawing surfaces–they are very difficult to clean and they scratch easily. Even extensive cleaning with baby wipes will still leave a lot of residue. The colors no longer stand out as much as a result.

Fun for everyone!
I am 24 years old and I received this as an xmas gift. It is so much fun for all ages! It was officially named “coolest gift ever” by everyone at the xmas party.
It is simple to use once you read the instructions, the glowing effect is amazing! I would recommend this for older children, as it may be hard for youngin’s to understand the steps needed to make the animated picture effect, and a few drops on a tile floor might break this toy. As far as educational value, I suppose it teaches about light refraction, if you want to get into that with your kids. It cleans up great with a damp cloth. Also, make sure you have 3 AA batteries on hand, they do not come included.
