Very good product.5
Bought about a month ago; has stood up to play well. Blocks stick together most of the time and my son enjoys playing with it.

Great gift5
I purchased several Halo Wars building sets. These sets are played with daily. I love that this can compete with
all the electronic gadgets in his room.

A little tricky to build but too much fun to play with4
Mega Blok Halo Wars Warthog is an irresistible package on the shelf. Having heard someone reference “LEGO” Halo in line at Legoland I thought the man daft- but sure enough before my eyes was a version of one the coolest vehicles in gaming history with 2 UNSC Soldiers w/ SMGs and an elite Covenant warrior w/ beam rifle and plasma turret. Building this set can actually be a little frustrating I was set on letting my son put it together, but the chassis and middle build have alot of precise counted clicks and you will be rebuilding if you don’t do this.
It still took me two tries to get the pieces to gel, the directions on the turret are misleading (you need a space between the two L bricks to make it work which the manual leaves out). This set is very satisfying once constructed, I recommend gluing the cannon on the Warthog’s machine gun and the light blasters on the turret for durable play. Everything is a dream come true play wise, the figures are terrific in their movement and posability, and their weapons are perfect for the scale. The tow hooks on front are bound to be lost and should have attached with little ropes. I also found the machine gun better not attached to its gray plate but moved back in the trunk where your figures can swing on its rotating axis without the whole thing falling off. There were a few extra pieces which are easily used to strengthen the build or modify your WH a bit.
The other sets look good in this line as well, but for my tastes this is one is the coolest and the best value.

dont be so harsh5
I have been a huge lego fan for years. I am going to start out by saying that mega bloks are not lego quality. With that said, even the most devout lego enthusiast has to admit that the quality of lego products has diminished greatly in the last few year. I have especially noticed this with the star wars series. This is the first set I have put together of the halo series and I have to say I do not agree with the bashing of quality or the negative comparison to lego. This set came with an alternate instruction sheet and extra parts to give the set some extra stability (mainly with the wing section which has been talked about in a previous review, I don’t think they used the amended instruction sheet). I consider these, quality wise, to be just under that of any lego space set. I have several star wars sets and you cant play with those either due to them falling apart. So to finish up, these are awesome for any collector and look very cool when put together. The mini figs are great and have several points of articulation. Another plus is that the retail price of a mega bloks set is half that of a lego set of equal piece value. Barely less quality for half the price. Sounds good to me. Plus…come on…its Halo.

Beautiful set, but I wish it was Lego.4
I normally avoid Mega Bloks because they have a tendency to be inferior in quality to Lego. This was the case here as well, with bricks that don’t fit snugly and others that are warped. In the end there were certain parts that would not even stay on. The two chin-guns and the laser cannons would not stay on at all. In the end I had to bust out the super glue and glued everything that kept falling off. Now it makes a great display piece, but I can never take it apart, but I don’t think I ever would have anyway.

Once together the Hawk looks absolutely awesome. Mega Bloks did an excellent job on the shape and appearance and the stickers and camo-colored blocks only add to the look.

While the Hawk is the focal point of the set the Banshee is every bit as good and looks as close to the video game as you could get. The figures are also very good, and much more articulated and realistic than the Lego offerings. Children may find them harder to pose because of this, but I didn’t buy this for the kids, I bought it for me. ;)

If the set had been offered in Lego I would give it 5 stars but because of the quality issues with Mega Bloks I deducted 1 star. Be warned, if your child wants to be able to build and re-build the model it may be difficult because without super glue the Hawk had parts that would not stay together. The Banshee and gun turret, as well as the figures, were fine.

Love this set!5
This was my first set in Mega Brands’ Halo Wars line, and I was very eager to get my hands on it. The set is composed mostly of basic bricks, rather than over-specialized elements of limited versatility. The few pieces that are specialized, such as the two canopies, are still sufficiently useful to be easily incorporated into a range of custom creations.

The Hawk is IMO the best-designed aircraft I’ve seen from any brick-based construction toy in recent years, including LEGO. It has great lines and an unconventional attachment structure for the tail, and the end result is a scrappy little fighter that really looks like it can dish it out as well as take it. The cockpit holds one Spartan figure. It’s armed with missiles, laser cannons beneath the wings, and a pair of chin-mounted machine guns. An excellent design overall.

The Banshee is also very good, with unusual angles and a truly sinister canopy. Even when it’s just setting on my desk it appears to be in flight, and the forward mounted cannons appear to pack quite a punch! The down-swept wings give it the appearance of a predator.

In addition to the two craft, the set also includes a Covenant gun turret to give the Hawk a little something extra to worry about.

The set includes two Covenant forces and two Spartans, and the figures are really amazing–highly detailed sculpts with great articulation. One of the two Spartan figures carries a flame-thrower built from four separate elements yet quite sturdy when built.

This is easily one of my favorite brick constructions sets in quite a few years.
